Strong Tests Pump Up Cook and Wyler Racing

Mooresville, NC (January 30, 2008) – Terry Cook and the Wyler Racing team had a great month of January with two very successful pre-season test sessions.  Cook steered his No. 60 Toyota Tundra to strong performances by posting top-five speeds in NASCAR test sessions at both Atlanta Motor Speedway and Daytona International Speedway.

Last week in Atlanta, Cook posted the fastest time of the 45 trucks (27 teams) participating in the two-day session with a lap of 31.493 seconds for a speed of 171.467 mph.  This performance by the new driver and team combination was no doubt impressive.

“Under the leadership of Tom Buzze (General Manager) and George Church (Crew Chief), the entire Wyler Racing crew has really worked hard,” stated Cook.  “Atlanta was such a great test for me and this entire team and will give us some positive momentum heading into the season starting here in a few weeks.  I am ready to go right now.”

The 2008 season will be Cook’s 11th season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and his inaugural one with Wyler Racing.  Cook holds the current record for the most consecutive starts in the series at 265.  Cook has earned six wins in his NCTS career to go along with 94 top-ten finishes.

Cook and his new team kicked off the month of January with testing at the site of the season opening event at the Daytona International Speedway.   Plane issues delayed their arrival into Daytona Beach, but once at the track the veteran driver and his team went to work in testing the two No. 60 Toyota Tundra’s they brought along.  After settling on his favorite truck, Cook went on to post the fourth fastest time during the three-day testing session.

“Jack (Sprague) and the Wyler Racing team did a great job here at Daytona last year.  They sat on the pole and won the race.  It was a phenomenal race effort,” Cook said.  “We want to live up to those expectations and come back and repeat, but there are a lot of good teams that can win. The opportunity at Wyler Racing is great.  They have a lot of great employees.  TRD (Toyota Racing Development) has made sure we have all the resources we need to be competitive week-in and week-out at our disposal.  We’re just looking for great things this year.”

Wyler Racing currently has sponsorship programs available for Terry Cook and the No. 60 Toyota Tundra.  With three wins to their credit in the last two seasons, including Daytona last year, the combination of team and driver offers a fantastic marketing opportunity for the 2008 season.  To inquire about these opportunities, please contact Brent Bushu at Integrity Sports Marketing at 704-947-2300 or Brent@WinningWithIntegrity.com
